Welcome to Red Beauty Textiles!

My name is Booth Kittson and I'm the owner, operator, and jill-of-all-trades at Red Beauty Textiles.
My goal is to offer you gorgeous, beautiful yarns and lovely fabrics for your crafting pleasure.

How did you start selling yarn and fabric?
I started out on Etsy in June 2011. I had the idea that this would be a great way to destash 30+ years of fabric and yarn collecting. When I started duplicate buying and having problems locating a certain yarn or sewing pattern, I realized that I could no longer manage all that stuff and it was time to find most of my stash a new and loving home.

After a few months I realized that I loved being able to assist folks with their creative goals and decided to pursue the business of selling fabric and yarn online as a full time career.

You mean it's just you?
Yup, Red Beauty Textiles is a one woman show. I recently married my long term boyfriend (of 17 years!). He graciously helps me with lugging big fabric bolts, inventory, and taxes. Graphics, photography, minor website maintenance, and running the business are done by me. When I need big updates to my website I usually hire one of three fabulous programmers to help.

Where do you live?
I live in Austin, TX USA

Do you have a physical store?
At this time no. One day I hope to have a traditional "brick & mortar"
shop.

How did you get into textiles?
My mom was a professional seamstress and taught me to sew, knit, and crochet when I was a tiny child. I attended Louise Salinger Academy of Fashion (San Francisco) and eventually made my way to FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) in Los Angeles. I've also taken a ridiculous number of art classes along the way (ridiculous in that my talent has not improved in proportion to the time spent in classes).

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your creative process!
